Help me help more 1st grade students in Jamaica, Queens read at grade level!

Hi all,

I wanted to do something good and make the world a better place. When I found out that less than 50% of 1st grade students in Jamaica, Queens are passing the ELA exam, I knew I had to help.

That's why I created a fundraiser to support A Better Jamaica's Jamaica Reads program. The program deploys senior citizens — via Zoom — to local elementary schools to help 1st graders who are struggling with the acquisition of their reading skills.

Their campaign to hire more tutors will help students experience greater academic success in the 1st grade and beyond. You can help!
